Accessibility Statement
Accessibility Statement
gicmd.com is operated for GIC Medical Disposal by Greenflow Environmental Services Inc., doing business as Greenflow, GIC Medical Disposal, and GIC-GREEN for Canadian operations, and by GIC-GREEN Inc. for U.S. operations. We want the public website to be usable by customers, prospects, applicants, vendors, and other visitors, including people who use assistive technologies or need accessible formats.
Our accessibility target
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our internal target for new and updated public website templates, shared components, and core user flows. WCAG 2.2 is broader than older WCAG versions and is intended to help make web content more perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.
Where laws or contracts require a different standard, including Ontario accessibility requirements that reference WCAG 2.0 Level AA for covered organizations, we will apply the legally required standard to the extent it applies to the specific site, content, organization, or service.
What this statement covers
This statement applies to public pages on gicmd.com that we control, including shared navigation, footer, legal pages, general marketing pages, and public inquiry paths for medical, biomedical, sharps, pharmaceutical, and healthcare waste services.
It does not automatically apply to third-party websites, embedded third-party services, customer portals, payment processors, map tools, chat tools, social media platforms, browser extensions, documents hosted or controlled by others, or content that we do not control. Those services may have their own accessibility practices.
Current status
We are building the site with accessibility in mind, including semantic page structure, keyboard-aware navigation, visible focus states where supported by the component, text alternatives for meaningful images, readable content structure, responsive layouts, and feedback channels for accessibility issues.
We have not represented that every page, document, embedded tool, third-party integration, or legacy asset is fully conformant at all times. Accessibility is an ongoing process, and some content may be updated, replaced, audited, or remediated over time.
This Accessibility Statement is not a third-party audit report, WCAG conformance claim, certification, admission of noncompliance, or guarantee that every item of website content satisfies every accessibility success criterion in every environment.
Known and possible limitations
Some areas may have limitations, especially while the new site platform is being built and older content or third-party tools are being migrated. These may include:
- third-party embeds, maps, chat tools, analytics tools, portals, payment tools, or social media features;
- older PDFs, downloads, documents, images, video, or media files;
- externally hosted content or vendor-controlled interfaces;
- experimental tools, calculators, preview pages, or features that are not yet part of a final customer workflow;
- content that is newly published and has not yet gone through a full accessibility review.
If you encounter a barrier, contact us so we can review the issue and provide support where reasonably possible.
Alternative access and assistance
If an accessibility barrier prevents you from accessing website content, completing a form, requesting a quote, contacting us, or getting service information, contact us by email or phone using the channels below. We will make reasonable efforts to provide the information, communication, or service path through an accessible alternative method while we review the barrier.
Depending on the request, available support may include email support, phone support, assisted form completion, accessible copies of website information, or routing to a team member who can help. This alternative support process is intended to improve access and communication. It does not replace our ongoing work to improve the website itself, and available support may depend on the nature of the request, privacy or security requirements, legal requirements, third-party dependencies, and operational constraints.
Feedback and support
If you have difficulty using gicmd.com, notice an accessibility barrier, need help with a form, or need information in a different format, contact us:
Email: info@gic-green.com
Phone: 1-877-244-8828
Mail: 250 University Ave, 2nd Floor, Toronto, ON M5H 3E5
When you contact us, please include the page URL, the issue you encountered, the browser or assistive technology you were using if you are comfortable sharing it, and the format or support you need. Do not include sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for the request.
Response process
We review accessibility feedback and route it to the appropriate content, design, development, or support team. Response timing may depend on the nature of the issue, the affected page or tool, the support requested, operational constraints, third-party dependencies, and legal requirements.
Where a barrier affects your ability to request service or access important information, we will try to provide a reasonable alternative way to communicate with us or receive the information. We may not be able to modify third-party systems directly, but we may escalate issues to the provider or offer an alternate contact path where reasonably possible.
Accessible formats and communication supports
Where required by applicable law and reasonably possible, we will work with you to provide website information or communications in an accessible format or with communication support. Available options may depend on the content, the requested format, the urgency of the request, and technical or legal constraints.
No guarantee and legal limits
This statement describes our accessibility goals and feedback process. It does not guarantee that every page, feature, third-party service, document, media file, or workflow will be error-free or accessible in every circumstance, browser, device, assistive technology, or user setting.
Nothing in this statement limits rights or obligations that cannot be limited under applicable accessibility, disability, consumer, privacy, or human rights laws. To the fullest extent permitted by law, this statement does not create warranties, contractual service levels, legal admissions, or obligations beyond those required by applicable law and signed agreements.
Updates
We may update this Accessibility Statement as the site, accessibility work, technologies, standards, legal requirements, and feedback process evolve. When we update it, we will change the effective date above.
